How Seven Cherri is taking handmade accessories of Garo hills to the world

Here we have today an interview with the founder of Seven Cherri, a startup that works with handmade art and craft accessories from Garo hills.
Please share about your business, what it does, when it started and some key highlights.
Seven Cherri is a brand of handmade contemporary accessories inspired by art, culture and poetry around the world. Each of our product is crafted meticulously by the local women of Tura.
Seven Cherri was started in the year 2017 by Semada Marak with the vision of putting tribal designs of the northeast India on the global map and increasing employment of local underprivileged women.
At the end of year two, the brand became her full time business with several women working under her and selling over 20k products. She has 2 retailers in Tura and ships her products to whole of the country.

What was the idea behind launching this venture?
We wanted to promote the tribal designs of the northeastindia India by making market friendly designs which are modern yet traditional. Something unique yet wearable.
What is the specialty of venture?
Our designs explores the rich and vibrant designs of the Northeast India in a new modern take which culminates into a beautiful coexistence of modern and traditional-in heart and spirit.
Our design house is completely run by the local women of Tura.

Winning the Meghalaya E-Championship Award 2019.
