HYC condemns assault on a member at Mawkyrwat

The Hynniewtrep Youth Council (HYC) Photjaud Rangthong Unit has condemned the assault on a member at Mawkyrwat.

In a statement on Monday, HYC-PR president Pynhunlang Lyngdoh said that a group of 20 people who claimed to be members of the Khasi Students’ Union (KSU) came on a pickup truck and forcefully entered the house of an HYC member Pynshainglang Wanniang, while he was sleeping.

“Wanniang was taken to the KSU office at Mawkyrwat and received injuries after he was assaulted by these people,” he said.

The HYC has demanded the authority concerned to take stern action against the people involved in the assault incident.
