HYC requests postponement of NAM Exam

The Hynniewtrep Youth Council (HYC) East Jaintia Hills Unit met with the Deputy Commissioner of East Jaintia Hills District on Monday to request the postponement of the upcoming National Ayush Mission (NAM) exam.

The HYC highlighted a scheduling conflict in a statement, noting that the NAM exam is set for August 3, 2024, at 11:00 AM at Jaintia Eastern College, Khliehriat, according to Notification No. DM&HO/EJHD/Genl.NAM-461/2023-24/7883, issued by the District Medical and Health Officer (DMHO). They pointed out that another exam, conducted by the Director of Health Services (MI), Meghalaya, Shillong, is also on the same date.

Applicants from the district have raised concerns about the overlap, as traveling from Khliehriat to Shillong would be challenging and may prevent them from reaching the exam venue on time.

In light of the importance of both exams and the difficulties faced by candidates, the HYC requested that the authorities consider postponing the NAM exam to a later date. This change would help ease the pressure on applicants and allow them to attend both exams.

The HYC urged the authorities to address the issue promptly to protect the interests of all candidates.
