I-League: Another home defeat for Shillong Lajong FC

Shillong: Shillong Lajong FC succumbed to a 0-1 defeat against Real Kashmir FC in their 6th home game of the 2018-19 I-League season at the JN Stadium Shillong today.

Coach Alison made three changes going into the game as goalkeeper Phurba, Phrangki Buam and Lalawmpuia Hnamte making it to the starting XI. As early as 5 mins Lajong had a free-kick but Kitboklang’s shot hit the wall and Samuel rebound shot went over the bar.

Then Phrangki’s free kick was cleared to safety by the defenders. In the 39th min Samuel clear shot on goal was saved by the Goalkeeper and it ends 0-0 of the 45 mins.

In the second half, Phurba made couple of saves to keep his goal intact. Mahesh Singh two shots from distance but they were off-target. The goal came at the 74th minute headed by Aaron Katebe from a corner for the visitors. The reds tried their best but the game ended 0-1 for the visitors. Phurba Lachenpa was awarded the Hero of the Match in today’s game.
