IASST holds a public outreach and curtain raiser programme of IISF-2024
As part of the tenth India International Science Festival, IISF-2024 celebrations, Institute of Advanced Study in Science and Technology (IASST), Guwahati, an autonomous R & D institute of DST, organized a day-long public outreach and curtain raiser programme of IISF-2024 at Paschim Boragaon in Guwahati on Monday.
The objective of this outreach programme is to disseminate the knowledge in terms of Achievements, Technologies developed, Products & Technological Services of IASST as a whole to attract Academia, Industries, R&D fraternity and common people of India to know the contributions of IASST since 46 years of its journey towards the development of New & Digital India and also to get an insight into the work life of researchers.
Prof Neelotpal Sen Sharma, Director In-charge, IASST welcomed the chief guest Dr. Dinesh Goswami, former Scientist G, North East Institute of Science and Technology, Jorhat, an Assamese writer and winner of the Sahitya Akademi’s Bal Sahitya Puraskar for 2014. Dr. Bhim Prasad Sharma, Dept. of Mathematics, Tezpuir University and Akash Pande, organising secretary, Vijnana Bharati New Delhi Branch, students, teachers of local schools of Guwahati, Scientists and Team IASST. Prof Sharma has also briefed the ideas and objectives of the outreach programme of IISF 2024.
Dr. Dinesh Goswami delivered an attractive Assamese science lecture and briefed them about IISF 2024. Bhim Prasad Sharma showcased astronomical observation among the school students and Akash Pande delivered a brief talk about Vigyan Bharati and IISF 2024. Mr. Sachin Narwadiya, Scientist D also delivered a lecture about IISF 2024.
Over 200 students from different schools, participated in this Outreach programme of IISF 2024. The students from various schools attended lectures. The programme ended with a vote of thanks by Dr. Asis Bala of IASST.
