Ibalari Sari takes the crown as Miss Seinraij Mukhla 2024; Jowai Dolloi’s speech inspires unity and cultural pride
The Seinraij Mukhla Students’ Association celebrated its Silver Jubilee Youth Week starting on December 25th, 2024. The series of events aimed to foster unity, cultural appreciation, and active participation among the youth of Seinraij Mukhla.
The Youth Week commenced with a 3.5 km marathon at Mukhla Nongrim Village, featuring 40 participants. Winners were Slowly Sumer, Lakhon Lyngdoh, and Emanuel Sari in the boys’ category, and Arwanki Sari, Leona Lyngdoh, and Neida Sumer in the girls’ category.
Following the marathon, the opening ceremony was held, presided over by Vice President Dawpait Suna. The ceremony saw the presence of Dabunki Sari, His Suna, and Player Suna, the General Secretary of the association, as special guests. With 150 attendees, the special guest, Player Suna, delivered a speech emphasizing the importance of youth involvement in such celebrations.
A Cultural Program highlighted local talents, with groups from different localities participating. The winners were Seinkyntu Niamtre Mukhla Nongrim, Mukhla Umlangshor, and Dong Lumpohshnong.
An interaction session with senior members was also held, focusing on the significance of the Silver Jubilee and cultural and religious practices. Participants learned about important rituals such as Biskurom Pooja, Ske Khlo Pooja, Knia Rynkaw, and Niamtre funeral practices. The session concluded with a vote of thanks by Player Suna.
The Extempore Speech Session took place on December 26th, with hosts Hamieh Suna and Pynshai Suna. Eleven participants competed, with winners including Slowly Sumer, Dafika Suna, Ekmenroi Sari, and Rosme Sari.
A Quiz Competition followed, hosted by Dabunki Sari with Tiplem Sumer as the judge. Ten groups competed, with top honors going to the group of Roseme Sari and Yodaki Suna, Pynshai Shylla, and the group of Pretty Suna.
An Archery Competition, officiated by Batista Sari, featured 19 participants. Winners were Player Suna, Hamieh Suna, and Ryngkat Sumer.
The Tug of War Competition was held in men’s and women’s categories, with winners in the women’s category being the group of Philis Shylla and runners-up the group of Phidalin Suna. In the men’s category, winners were the Firstly Sari Group, with Callten Sari Group as runners-up.
The Dat Mo Point, a traditional Pnar game for girls, saw Team B as winners and Team A as runners-up.
The final day featured the Mr. and Miss Seinraij Mukhla 2024 competition. Hosts Pynbiang Sari and Prety Suna oversaw the event, with judging by Balari Lyngdoh, Sein Shylla, and colleagues. Special guests included Chief Guest Puramon Kynjing (Daloi Elaka Jowai) and other esteemed figures such as Wanbha Lyngdoh and members of the Seinraij Mukhla community.
In total, 23 participants competed in three rounds: Traditional Round, Casual Dress Round, and Formal Dress Round.
Winner announcements for Miss and Mr. Seinraij Mukhla 2024 were as follows: Miss Seinraij Mukhla 2024: Pynhun Sari won Best Personality, Dafika Suna was the 2nd Runner-up, Saka Sari was the 1st Runner-up, and Ibalari Sari was the winner. Mr. Seinraij Mukhla 2024: Moonlight Sari was the 2nd Runner-up, Samuel Shylla was the 1st Runner-up, and Ekmenroi Sari was the winner.
Chief Guest Puramon Kynjing, Daloi Elaka Jowai, gave a speech emphasizing the importance of recognizing the blessings and guidance that God provides to shape our future. He highlighted the sacredness of life and stressed the importance of unity and fulfilling religious duties. Puramon Kynjing encouraged the youth to work for the betterment of the Niamtre community and to focus on their responsibilities.
Special guest Wanbha Lyngdoh also spoke, praising the efforts of the Seinraij Mukhla Students’ Association in empowering the youth and fostering community spirit. He encouraged the younger generation to continue participating actively in such events and to uphold their cultural heritage.
The event highlighted the rich cultural heritage of Seinraij Mukhla, fostering unity and celebration among the youth. The program concluded with a vote of thanks by Dabunki Sari, expressing gratitude to everyone who contributed to the success of the Youth Week celebrations.
