ICP Tamabil Dawki operational by March 2023 says Port Authority of India Chairman
The Integrated Check Post (ICP) along Indo-Bangla border in West Jaintia Hills District will be fully operational by March 2023 according to Aditya Mishra IPS the Chairman of the Port Authority of India.
Mishra informed a delegation of MEICC led by its Secretary Dolly Khonglah and Vice President Kmen Myrchiang in an informal meeting on Wednesday in the premise of ICP Tamabil Dawki presently under construction at a total cost of Rs 250 Crore.
Mishra told the delegation “its for you people we are constructing this port,” in Dawki bordering Bangladesh.
The MIECC leaders pointed to Mishra that before making the port operational there is need for creating proper infrastructures such as road, electricity, water supply amongst others.
The Port Authority of India Chairman assured the delegation he will look into this matter and also conveyed the matter to the Govt of India.
The MIECC leaders suggested to Mishra for considering the land opposite Dolly Khonglah’s house for construction of parking lot for housing trucks and vehicles especially for those 709 model trucks coming from Pynursla which reach the areas early morning.
Mishra agreed to the suggestion and immediately ordered his officers to dismantle the old shed near the road and convert the vacated areas to parking lot as suggested by the members of MIECC.
