ICYM convention cross reaches final stop at Jowai parish
The Indian Catholic Youth Movement (ICYM) celebrates its 25th anniversary “Silver Jubilee Youth Convention Cross” at St. Teresa Church Yard, Marianhill Jowai, West Jaintia Hills District, on Monday which will last until the 26th of March.
A celebration is to honour the anniversary by three dioceses from Nongstoin, Shillong and Jowai by receiving a travelling convention cross from one parish to another. The convention cross travelled Jowai diocese over two months ago and has arrived at its last stop in Jowai parish mark the 25 years of the youth group according to Father Lawrence R. Paswet, a Spiritual Youth Director and Asstt. Parish Priest.
He also said, “the cross will stay in the Jowai for 10 days and we will honour the cross convention with a big mass, it will move to the different churches and the different Catholic Managing Committees (CMC) in Jowai.” The convention cross will be sent to Shillong Archdiocese by the end of the 10 days, he added.
Present in the event, Rev. Fr. Hilarius Lamare- Parish Priest; Sr. Magdelin Sohtun- LYA and few other advisers. Furthermore, the Jowai parish released a music album to commemorate the day.
