IIM Shillong concludes Tenth International Sustainability Conference
The 10th International Conference on Sustainability, SUSCON X, concluded successfully on Saturday, marking a milestone in addressing global sustainability challenges. The three-day event drew 120 global delegates, fostering impactful discussions and groundbreaking insights. Partners included Clark University, State Bank of India (SBI), IIMS Journal of Management Science, SAGE and Springer.
The theme, “Revisit, Revive, and Restore,” provided a forum for exploring sustainability through 15 technical sessions. Prof. D. P. Goyal of IIM Shillong welcomed participants, with Prof. Sanjoy Mukherjee and Prof. Sanjeeb Kakoty introducing the theme. Rajiv Mangal of Tata Steel discussed the industry’s lifecycle assessment, emphasizing sustainability initiatives. Padmashree Kartikeya Vikram Sarabhai highlighted the role of lifestyle in sustainability.
Sekhar Prabhakar, CEO of CEdge Software Consultants, discussed people-centric sustainability initiatives. Professor Lin Peng from Baruch College addressed ESG-Linked Pay globally. Prof. Sanjeeb Kakoty discussed measuring intangibles, the community sector, and Biomimicry in sustainability.
The valedictory ceremony expressed gratitude, envisioning continued research development. SUSCON-X aims to shape a value-based, humane and sustainable future, fostering ethically driven businesses and a harmonious society.
