IIM Shillong partners with Burgundy School of Business and SIDBI to drive innovation and entrepreneurship
IIM Shillong recently signed two pivotal Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs), marking significant strides in both global collaboration and regional entrepreneurship.
The institute formalized its 26th international partnership with the Burgundy School of Business, France, aiming to foster academic and cultural exchanges through dual degrees, student and faculty exchanges, and joint research projects. This collaboration will offer innovative educational experiences that bridge diverse learning environments, furthering IIM Shillong’s mission of academic excellence and global engagement.
On the domestic front, IIM Shillong joined forces with the Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI) to enhance entrepreneurial support through its IIM Shillong Foundation for Incubation and Enterprise (IIMSFIE). This partnership will introduce the Skill to Enterprise Model (STEM) program, which combines an 18-month intensive training, mentorship, and incubation support for aspiring entrepreneurs in the region. Aimed at empowering 30 selected candidates, the program will equip participants with practical skills and mentorship to create sustainable businesses, boosting economic growth and innovation in the North East.
Prof. D.P. Goyal, Director of IIM Shillong, expressed optimism about the partnerships, while Bhanu Prakash Verma, SIDBI’s North East Zone General Manager, emphasized SIDBI’s commitment to nurturing young entrepreneurs. Both collaborations highlight IIM Shillong’s dedication to fostering a globally recognized, locally rooted ecosystem of academic and entrepreneurial excellence.
