‘I’ll be the happiest man if ILP is implemented’ says Rymbui
Home Minister Lahkmen Rymbui said he would be the happiest man if the Centre decided to implement the inner line permit (ILP) system in the state.
“I’ll be the happiest man if our union home minister Amit Shah declares that the ILP provision will be implemented in the state of Meghalaya,” Rymbui told reporters on Friday.
Shah will chair the 69th plenary of the North Eastern Council (NEC) here on Saturday.
“Let us not jump into the conclusion but this (ILP) is the wish of the people of Meghalaya, it is the wish of each and every civil society and individual of the state,” Rymbui said.
He also said that Shah’s visit will be an opportunity for the state government to take up various issues concerning the state for the consideration of the Centre.
