Induction programme for PG 1st semester students held at Gauhati University
The Induction Programme for the Post Graduate 1st Semester students of Gauhati University was held at the Birinchi Kumar Baruah Auditorium on Monday.
In his address, Vice Chancellor Prof Nani Gopal Mahanta highlighted the evolving dynamics of education in light of NEP-2020 and emphasized the growing impact of the virtual world on contemporary education. He also underscored the importance of applying knowledge for the betterment of society.
The event was graced by distinguished speakers including Dr Sujoy Lal Thaosen, IPS (retd), former Director General of CRPF and Chief Commissioner of Assam State Commission for Rights to Public Services and Loya Agarwala, Consultant Psychologist and Counsellors the guests of honour.
In his address, Dr Sujoy Lal Thaosen spoke on the challenges faced by students and the significance of hard work and perseverance in achieving life’s goals. His motivational words encouraged students to confront obstacles head-on.
Loya Agarwala urged students to quickly adapt to their new academic environment and seize the opportunities that come their way. She stressed the importance of maintaining emotional and mental well-being throughout their lives.
The programme also saw a warm welcome from the registrar of Gauhati University, Dr Hemanta Kumar Nath, and concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr Dhurjjati Sarma. The deans of all faculties, Heads of Academic Departments/Centres, Heads of Administrative Offices, and office bearers of the Post Graduate Students’ Union were in attendance, making it a grand and inspiring start for the new students.
