International Labour Organization funds project for Child labour in Meghalaya
In order to address the issue of child labour in East Jaintia Hills District, the International Labour Organization (ILO) has decided to intervene on the pursuit of the World Vision.
The ILO has funded a six months project to tackle the menace of child labour.
The project was launched by Deputy Commissioner Abhilash Baranwal, IAS in Khliehriāt.
The project will be implemented by World Vision.
This is the first such project in Meghalaya and aims to identify 5000 most vulnerable households and help them in accessing government poverty alleviation schemes.
Also present were Narasimhan from ILO and Meren Nampui from World Vision.
