Jail Road Boys HSS & Shillong SS won their matches in the U-14 Inter School Cricket tournament
SHILLONG: Jail Road Boys HSS & Shillong SS won their matches in the U-14 IP Das Memorial Inter School Cricket Tournament organised by the Shillong Cricket Association (SCA) today.
The 1st match was played between Jail Road HSS and Little Angels School. The toss was won by Jail Road Hr. Sec. School and they elected to field first.
Little Angels School manage to score 95/9 in 15 overs with top scores from Faiz Nawaz 20 runs off 18 balls and Manish Kumar 19 runs of 19 balls. The pick of the bowlers were Rupak Paul taking 3 wkts from 3 overs and Vicky Kr Singh 2wkts from 3 overs.
In reply Jail Road Hr. Sec. School scored 97/4 in 9.4 overs with a brilliant half century 62 runs off 31 balls from Rahul Barman. Ali Ahmed and Aditya Kumar took 2wks and 1 wkt respectively. Jail Road Hr.Sec. School won the match by 6 wkts.
In the 2nd match was played between Shillong Secondary school and St. Edmund’s School Shillong Secondary School won the toss and elected bat and managed to score 115/10 in 12.4 overs with scores from Sumit Paul 32 runs off 19 balls and Parvez Ali 22 runs of 27 balls. Pick of the bowlers was Vaibhav Chakraborty taking 5 wkts in 2 overs giving away 15 runs and Saptarshi Chakraborty in 1 overs 9 runs 1 wkts.
In chasing the target St. Edmund’s School managed to put 101/9 in 15 overs on the board with top scores from Manthavya Jain 30 runs off 31 balls and Joydeep Bhattacharya17 runs off 17 balls . Shillong Secondary school won the match by 14 runs .
