Jaintia Hills region natural beauty boasted with First Tourist Resort
Jaintia Hills region is blessed with picturesque natural beauty in form of mesmerising waterfalls and natural scenic beauty but not much has been done to develop and preserve them until today.
A young dynamic entrepreneur from Jowai town took upon his shoulder to tap the gifts of nature by coming up with a resort for people to refresh and rejuvenate themselves.
He is no other than Teiborlang Hinge fondly called Ma Tei and popularly known for erecting eye catching pandals through his tent house business.
Ma Tei successfully set up the Loomkyntoor Resort and Spa in Skhenpyrsit village, Amlarem Sub Division, West Jaintia Hills District after struggling for many years of hard works in his entrepreneurial journey.
Teiborlang used his plot lands of 22 acres to build one of the finest resorts in the district.
He started to build the resort in December 2020 and within 8 months it was completed. The resort was planted with varieties of orchards and it’s like an agro-based resort.
The Skhenpyrsit village is just 14 KM District Headquarter Jowai and the resort is near Phe Phe waterfalls which attract both domestic and international tourists.
After Phe Phe waterfalls, the Loomkyntoor resort and spa is situated in just few kilometre from Krangshuri, Shnongpdeng, Darang, Dawki and Kudengrim and this resort is located in Skhenpyrsit village which is going gung-ho in promoting the potential of the area as a tourist destination.
Inaugurated by Deputy Commissioner, West Jaintia Hills District Garod LSN Dykes, IAS, the resort housed five cottages attached with a swimming pool, a restaurant, a playing zone for kids with an outdoor seating area and natural waterfalls.
Recalling the old days, Teiborlang Hinge said “It was a dream come true after building the resort and spa. We have struggled a lot to do business, but this time with the stunning flow of tourists in the area includes domestic and international we can generate income and at the same make this place a tourist destination.”
