Jeet Kune Do fighters puts Meghalaya to fame in the international arena
JOWAI: Its been a great achievement for Meghalaya Jeet Kune Do Association and for the State as well when three of its Fighters Francis Ricardo Ranee Songthiang, Ferdinand Suchiang and Ribhalin Marbaniang under the leadership and guidance of Donny Ranee and Gemansingh Warjri together with fighters from Manipur, West Bengal and Delhi have won many medals in different category in the International Jeet Kune Do Championship 2019 held at Alhaj Mokbul Hossain University college, Dhaka in Bangladesh from July 27-30 July, 2019.
The event was organized by International Martial arts Organization Member of United Nations (DESA),International Federation of Physical Education, FIEP- Slovakia (Recognized By: IPC),International Council of Sports Science and Physical Education, ICSSPE- Germany (Recognized By IOC) Bangladesh Martial art Confederation (Recognized By: Sports Ministry & National Sports Council).
Francis Ricardo Ranee Songthiang a resident of Laitkor Kynton -U- Mon, Mawrie Lumheh and a Shillong College Student of Class XII won the Gold Medal in the 57kg Category.
Ferdinand Suchiang a resident of Dongmihsngi, Jowai, West Jaintia Hills District and a bandsman at Civil Defence and Home Guards Department won the Gold Medal in the Jeet Kune Do.
Ribhalin Marbaniang a resident of Lumparing and a Class VIII student at Bainty Buds School won a Silver Medal in the 45 kg category LC.
