JHADC’s budget passed with unparliamentary precedent of no reply to general discussion
In what could be termed as unparliamentary precedent the Jaintia Hills Autonomous District Council (JHADC) on Wednesday passed its deficit budget of Rs.12.89 crore with neither any reply from the Executive Committee to the general discussion on budget nor any cut motion from the opposition MDC.
Moving the Budget for passing by the House, Chief Executive Member Thombor Shiwat said that the total expenditures for the 18 departments under JHADC for the financial year 2022-23 is Rs.204, 94, 48, 300 while its total receipts stand at Rs.192, 05, 16,000.
Shiwat said that out of the total expenditures amounts the Council Fund is Rs.127, 60,32,300 while Government Grant is Rs.77, 34,16,000.
According to Shiwat, the allocation for General Administration Department is 15,48,94,000 while for Finance & Accounts Department an amount of Rs 23,36,32,900 is alloted.
He further said that the allocation for Land Revenue & Land Reform Department is Rs 10,49,94,600 and Land Record & Land Settlement Department is Rs, 5,87,65,400.
He also said for Taxation Department an amount of Rs 40998200 is allocated while for Forest Department an amount of Rs 20, 89,200 is allotted.
Political Department with 3,29,23,600, Civil Works Department with the highest allocation of 65,59,15,100, he informed.
Shiwat said for Education Department is Rs. 21,38,51,700, Art And Culture Department council with 2,32,03,500, Market Department with Rs 14,57,28,100 and Statistics And Information Department with Rs. 1,21,42,400
Stationery & Printing Department got Rs.1,27,47,300 while Planning Department with Rs. 1,20,15,600, he said.
Judicial Department bagged Rs. 2,38,08,200 while Legislative Department with 7,75,09,100 and Village And Town Administration Department with the lowest allocation of Rs. 97,92,000 and Fishery And Agriculture Department council with Rs. 2,57,97,500.
