SHILLONG: JK Tyre & Industries Ltd, India’s leading tyre manufacturer flagged off the second leg of its “Happiness Truck” campaign in Kolkata today. Driving through Kolkata to North East, the unique initiative is an exciting and action-packed truck drive aimed at identifying the challenges of the trucking community in the region.
Highlighting the pivotal role played by trucking industry, this initiative drives a JK Tyre branded truck through busy trucking routes in the North East. With pit-stops at important trucking hubs, interactions with drivers, fleet operators, garage owners and mechanics are scheduled to take place. In addition to connecting with members of the trucking fraternity, an important focus area of the campaign is to spread awareness on safety issues and maintenance of the truck, tyres and lighting systems. The drive will also involve handing over of goodies and groceries to the needy at smaller towns and villages en-route.

Happiness Truck Season I was the first-ever JK Tyre Happiness Truck winning hearts by reaching out to truckers, truck drivers and other members of the trucking fraternity during June-July this year. The drive covered the Northern parts of India, starting from Delhi, crossing Manali, Leh, Kargil, Srinagar, Pathankot, Jalandhar and Ludhiana, returning back to Delhi for the finale. One of the main highlights of the drive was the truck scaling an altitude of 5,328 m above sea level at Leh, as it covered a total of 2,736 km during the action-packed and adventurous 15-day campaign.
