The State Council of Science, Technology, and Environment (SCSTE) heralds a new era of educational empowerment with the introduction of the Meghalaya Star 30: Guiding Aspirations for NEET/JEE Exams program. Designed as a comprehensive residential coaching initiative, Meghalaya Star 30 integrates personalized counseling, mentoring, and academic guidance for promising candidates who have successfully navigated their class XII examinations.

The program’s primary objective is to equip students with the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in the competitive NEET/JEE entrance examinations, paving their path to esteemed medical institutions, IITs, and engineering colleges both nationally and internationally. By meticulously selecting 30 candidates through stringent criteria, Meghalaya Star 30 ensures a tailored educational experience comprising regular coaching, mentorship, and immersive residential classroom sessions, slated to commence in July 2024.

At its core, Meghalaya Star 30 aspires to instill a culture of healthy competition among young minds, foster academic excellence by increasing the success rate in NEET/JEE examinations, and extend educational opportunities to underprivileged students, particularly those hailing from rural areas devoid of such coaching facilities. Moreover, the program endeavors to elevate the prominence of science education, laying the foundation for a prosperous future for Meghalaya.

The orientation phase for Meghalaya Star 30 is scheduled from May 13th to May 18th, 2024, across various schools in the state. Led by esteemed educator Dr. Varun Murthy, renowned for his expertise in guiding and mentoring NEET/JEE aspirants, the orientation will feature presentations, interactive sessions, individual consultations, and student screenings, culminating in registration for the program. Prospective candidates who have cleared their class XII examinations are invited to participate, accompanied by their parents.

The orientation schedule is as follows:

May 13th: State Central Library, Shillong (8:30 am to 10:30 am); Science College, Mairang (12:00 pm – 2:00 pm); Alpha English Hr. Sec School, Nongpoh (4:00 pm to 6:00 pm).

May 14th: Marian Hill Hr. Sec, Jowai (8:30 am to 10:30 am); Khlieriat Hr. Sec School, Khliehriat (12:30 pm – 3:30 pm).

May 15th: Sngap Syiem, Mawkyrwat (8:30 am to 10:30 am); St. Peter’s Hr. Sec School, Nongstoin (12:30 pm – 3:30 pm).

May 16th: Tura District Library Auditorium, Tura (8:30 am to 10:30 am); Ampati Hr. Sec School, Ampati (12:30 pm – 3:30 pm).

May 17th: JN Hr. Sec School, Phulbari (8:30 am to 10:30 am); St. Thomas Hr. Sec. School, Mendipathar (2:00 pm – 4:00 pm).

May 18th: Baghmara Hr. Sec School Baghmara (9:00 am to 11:00 am); Sacred Heart Hr. Sec School, Williamnagar (2:30 pm – 4:30 pm).
