Jongksha village declared as containment zone

The District Magistrate, East Khasi Hills District, Isawanda Laloo, IAS, has declared the entire village of Jongksha as containment zone after the detection of 30 new COVID-19 positive cases.

The order was issued on Saturday in view of the report received from the Block Development Officer, Mawkynrew C&RD Block and the Medical & Health Officer In-charge of Jongksha PHC that more than 30 (thirty) plus positive cases have been detected at Jongksha Village under Mawkynrew C&RD Block.

The order restrict unregulated entry and exit in the village in order to facilitate contact tracing, isolation and testing of the high risk contacts.

No person shall be allowed to move into the containment area and inhabitants within this area shall not move out.

All the inhabitants within the containment area shall strictly remain inside their home.

All shops/establishments shall remain closed during containment.

The Block Development Officer, Mawkynrew C&RD Block shall supervise and monitor strict compliance of the order.

Further, all residents will wear masks without fail, avoid mixing with others not from their family, and closely monitor themselves in case of developing of any symptoms.

Any violation of this order shall entail prosecution under the penal provision of
Disaster Management Act, 2005 and I.P.C.
