Jowai Hindu faithful distributed 600 food packets
“Service to man is Service to God,” was emulated by the Hindu faithful of the Shiv Mandir Committee, Jowai in this National Lockdown as they came forward to help the poor and needy people of West Jaintia Hills District.
The Shiv Mandir Committee, Jowai distributed packets of food grains containing Rice, Dal, salt, sugar, tea, oil, potato etc to 600 families of various localities of Jowai Town and its superb affected by the National Lockdown to combat the pandemic COVID-19.
The food packets were distributed in parts of Loomsooiung, Khihmusniang, Caroline Colony, Iawmusiang (Jowai-Shillong road), Mihmyntdu, Ladthadlaboh, Khliehtyrshi, Moopliang, Muthlong, Pasyih and Nongbah villages on April 11th and 12.
The distribution of food packets was led by Shiv Mandir Committee President Santosh Kumar Jain, the faithful comprising Hari Singh, Ram Ekbal Singh, Rajeev Singh, Bhola Singh, Ashutosh Singh, Gurucharan Puniya, Shyam Sharma, Jaynarayan Pareek, Dheeraj Kumar Shah, Prince Singh ,Pramod Kumar Jain ,Haradhan, Fatik Paul.
The faithful acknowledged All Jaintia Master Roll Workers and Labour Union President K. L. Pariat for his valuable guidance and helps.
The Waheh Shnong of various villages, DSP West Jaintia Hills and OC Jowai Police Station were present at the time of distribution in Loomsooiung and Moopliang village.
