JSU demands govt to speed up handing over Mukroh firing incident case to CBI
The Jaintia Students’ Union (JSU) on Wednesday demanded the state government to speed up the process of handing over the investigation into the Mukroh firing incident to the central bureau of investigation (CBI).
In a statement, the JSU urged the people of Meghalaya not to forget the incident where five civilians were killed due to indiscriminate firing by the Assam police and forest guards at Mukroh.
Expressing solidarity with the families of the victims, the JSU said it would continue to demand justice for them.
The JSU has also demanded from chief minister Conrad K Sangma to initiate Border Police Out Post in Mukroh to provide safety and security to the villagers but till date the BOP is not well equipped.
