Khadar Daloi Law College students honoured for outstanding performance
Khadar Daloi Law College, Jowai on Saturday felicitated law students who excelled in the NEHU LLB 2023 results recently announced.
This year, 15 candidates appeared for the 6th-semester LLB examination of 2020-23. Out of these 15 candidates, 7 secured positions in the top ten, while 12 candidates achieved a First Division rank.
Wanbhalang Buam emerged as the topper in this year’s NEHU LLB results in the state.
Among others who shone in the NEHU LLB results is Rapborlang Kharbihkhiew MCS, who currently serves as the Additional Deputy Commissioner of Ri Bhoi District. Kharbihkhiew secured the seventh position in the top ten list and now wish to pursue his Master of Laws (LLM). Hameshaniah Suiam, a sportsman representing the state in Kickboxing, secured the fifth position.
The first woman legislator from the Jaintia Hills region, Santa Mary Shylla, representing Sutnga Saipung Constituency, graced the occasion as the chief guest in the present of JHADC Executive Member Phasmon Dkhar, President of the Governing Body of Khadar Daloi Law College, Dr. PM Passah, President of the Society For the Study of Law (SFCL) R. Lamarr, Secretary of SFSL JB Laloo and others.
In her speech, Santa Mary Shylla lauded the topper and all the students who successfully cleared the exam. She also expressed concern about the poor infrastructure of the college and urged the governing body and the Society For the Study of Law to send a proposal to her so that she can provide financial assistance to develop college during her time in government.
