KHADC approves denotifying of TCs

The Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC) has approved the proposal to denotify five town committees besides excluding eight villages from the Nongpoh Town Committee (NTC).

Addressing media persons after a meeting of the executive committee, Executive Member in-charge Town Committee, Paul Lyngdoh said the EC has approved to exclude eight villages from the NTC and to retain 10 villages under the Nongstoin Town Committee.

“The EC has also approved the proposal to denotify five town committees which include Mawkyrwat, Sohiong, Umsning, Mawlai and Mairang,” he said.

Lyngdoh informed that the report on the matter will be placed for consideration before the House during the upcoming session of the Council, which will commence from October 27.
