KHADC chief assures to set up coaching centre, rehab centre, improve health care system if elected from Nongthymmai constituency

HADC chief Pyniaid Sing Syiem on Tuesday assured to set up a coaching centre, rehabilitation centre, promote entrepreneurship, sports and improve health care system if elected as MDC of Nongthymmai constituency.

Expressing confidence to win the upcoming elections to the KHADC to be held on February 21, Syiem said, “If elected, we will set up a coaching centre in Nongthymmai constituency, which will be at par with the centres in Delhi. This centre will offer free coaching to youths of the constituency to prepare them for the different competitive examinations. We will do this because we have seen many people, especially those coming from poor family backgrounds, cannot afford to go for coaching outside the state.”

“We will also encourage entrepreneurship among the youth so that they not only gain employment but can give jobs to others as well. Apart from that, we want to promote sport activities for our youth. This decision has been taken after interacting with so many youths especially those who are the first time voters,” he said while adding “I have no doubt that based on our agendas people will vote for us in the coming elections.”

Further, Syiem promised to take up with the state government on the need to improve the health care system and address the water scarcity in the constituency.

“Apart from coming up with effective laws on the different subjects, we are also responsible to bring development to the constituency. If given a chance, I will take up the various issues faced by the constituency with the state government,” he said while adding “There are villages in the constituency, where residents have to buy water for drinking and there are also people, who cannot afford to go for better medical treatment. Therefore, we need to improve the health care system.”

“Also, we want to set up counselling and rehabilitation centres for those who cannot afford treatment for drug abuse. We want to ensure they get rehabilitated. Besides this, we also want to set up a skill development institute to train our youth in different trades so that they get employment,” he further added.
