KHADC threatens to check against illegal transportation of coal
The Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC) has threatened to deploy its own personnel to check against illegal transportation of coal.
Speaking to reporters on Wednesday, KHADC chief Titosstarwell Chyne said the illegal transportation of coal, if allowed, will greatly affect the royalty shares of the district councils.
“We therefore urge the state government to take steps to prevent such illegal activities failing which we would be compelled to deploy our own personnel to check against this,” he said.
Chyne however said he was not aware of any minister being involved in the illegal transportation of coal.
