KHADC to take action against absentee officers, staff
The United Democratic Alliance-led executive committee in the Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council has warned action against officers and staff who never turn up for work.
Replying to the discussion on the budget speech on Tuesday, chief executive member Titosstarwell Chyne admitted that the work culture among the employees of the Council is very slow.
“We also have employees who never turn up for work but are regular in drawing their monthly salaries,” he said.
Stating that the Council has over 800 employees, Chyne however said the irony is that he does not even know some of the officers.
In view of this, the CEM informed that the executive committee has decided to streamline the functioning of the district council by reorganizing all the different departments although it is not going to be an easy task.
“We will also take action against those officers and staff who never attend work for many months,” he said.
