Khandu visits Arunachal Pavillion at 43rd IITF in New Delhi
Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu, accompanied by Member of Parliament Tapir Gao, Chief Secretary Manish Gupta, MLA Oken Tayeng, and other senior officials, visited the Arunachal Pradesh Pavilion at the 43rd India International Trade Fair in New Delhi on Friday.
This marks the first-ever participation of the state with its dedicated pavilion, organized by the Trade and Commerce Department of Arunachal Pradesh.
During the visit, Khandu lit the ceremonial lamp and toured the stalls, interacting with entrepreneurs showcasing products from the state’s remote villages. He emphasized the significance of effective packaging and branding in enhancing the market reach of these products.
Addressing the women Self-Help Group (SHG) members, he encouraged them to leverage the exposure provided by the fair to establish business connections and learn from entrepreneurs across the country.
Khandu expressed appreciation for the Trade and Commerce Department’s efforts in bringing together a diverse group of entrepreneurs under one platform. He called for expanding this initiative with increased participation in future editions. His interaction with the department’s organizing team underscored his commitment to fostering entrepreneurial growth and promoting Arunachal’s unique products on a national stage.
Chief Secretary Manish Gupta emphasized the necessity of establishing food testing laboratories and other institutional support mechanisms to assist entrepreneurs from the state. He assured the participants of the government’s full support in fostering their growth.
Commissioner of Trade & Commerce, Saugat Biswas, provided insights into the Pavilion’s focus, highlighting its role in offering a national-level platform for Arunachal Pradesh’s entrepreneurs to gain exposure, build business linkages, and adopt sustainable trade practices.
The visiting delegation included Commissioner, Coordination Ankur Garg; Commissioner to the Chief Minister Sonam Chombay; Commissioner of Education Amjad Tak; Secretary of Trade & Commerce Taru Talo; Secretary of Tourism Ranphoa Ngowa; and Directors Sonyung Modi and Manjunath R. Their collective presence and engagement deeply encouraged the participating entrepreneurs, reinforcing the state’s commitment to entrepreneurial development and market expansion.
