KHNAM MLA slam ex-Guv’s derogatory remarks
KHNAM legislator from North Shillong, Adelbert Nongrum on Thursday slammed the former Governor of Meghalaya, Tathagata Roy for his inflammatory statement against a students’ body.
Nongrum said Roy through twitter has compared the Khasi Students’ Union (KSU) to a militant outfit and demanded that it should be banned.
He said the former governor was the same person who encouraged to boycott the economy of the Kashmiris and had also comment against the tribal of the state that whoever does not accept Citizenship Amendment Act, should be chase away to North Korea.
“It is understood by his statements that his ideology and motive is to serve the party ideology not the constitution of the nation,” Nongrum said.
The MLA also agrees with the statement made by the Education Minister, Lahkmen Rymbui that the issue related to Ichamati is all about the upcoming West Bengal Assembly elections, to be held in 2021, as it happen so sudden.
“I believed that every person desire peace and harmony but if a situation compelled then peace cannot be achieved without war,” he said.
Nongrum also termed the representation submitted by three individuals regarding the Ichamati incident as an attempt to mislead the Governor, Satya Pal Malik, citizens and people from outside the state.
“The tyranny and misleading act of two or three individual should be condemned by all citizens even the state government should react aggressively and to do just so as to maintain law and order in the state as well as outside the state,” he said.
Meanwhile, the MLA said the recent protest in front of the Meghalaya House at Kolkata is a sign of unpleasant and is a clear political motive of someone even as he demanded that whoever is responsible for this should be held accountable otherwise, the state government should be held responsible.
