KJHSATA extend support to FASTOM’s ultimatum to Govt
The Khasi Jaiňtia Higher Secondary Adhoc Teachers’ Association (KJHSATA) on Saturday decided to fully support the FASTOM’s decision to serve a one-week ultimatum to the state government to immediately enhance their salary and upgrade all adhoc schools to deficit system.
The decision was taken at a general meeting at Synod Higher Secondary School, Mission Compound here.
“We have unanimously decided to extend full support to the FASTOM, which has served a one-week deadline to the state government to comply with the demand for enhancing our salary and to bring all ad hoc teachers under the deficit system,” KJHSATA president Mayborn Lyngdoh told reporters.
The Federation of All School Teachers of Meghalaya (FASTOM) will convene a meeting on expiry of the deadline to discuss the future course of action to intensify the agitational programme in order to pressurize the state government to fulfill this demand, he informed.
Meanwhile, the KJHSATA also elected its new office bearers. They include vice president Paramita Choudhary, general secretary Andrew Lyngkhoi, Assistant general secretary E. Lyngdoh, treasurer D Syiem and assistant treasurer P Khongsdir.
