KSU demands posting of sufficient staff for issuing income certificates
Aggrieved with the inordinate delay for the issuance of income certificate, the Khasi Students’ Union East Jaintia Hills District on Friday urged the Deputy Commissioner, East Jaintia Hills District to post sufficient numbers of staff for the purpose of issuance income certificates.
According to a letter submitted to the Deputy Commissioner, the KSU said that it has been observed that only one staff member is handling the issuance of income certificate and the Union felt that two or three staffs should be entrusted to ensure the work is done efficiently and on time.
The letter pointed that due to the current shortage of staff the process of issuing income certificates slows down tremendously and at time the students receives the Income Certificates on the close to the last date for submission of scholarship application.
“It has also come to our attention that the staff member in charge frequently takes extended leaves, further delaying the process,” the letter said.
The KSU urged the Deputy Commissioner to take corrective measures for expediting the issuance of income certificate to the students of the district as it is mandatory for submission of scholarship forms.
