KSU files FIR against an HYC member
The Khasi Students’ Union (KSU) Photja-ud Rangthong Unit has filed an FIR against a Hynniewtrep Youth Council (HYC) member for allegedly using abusive languages and threatening two members of the union.
“The Photja-ud Rangthong Unit of the union have filed an FIR today against Pynshngainlang Wanniang, who is also a member of the HYC, for using abusive languages, assault and threatening our members which include Donald Stone Thongni and Everwell Robin Thongni,” KSU-South West Khasi Hills, general secretary Jiedskhem Nongsiej said in a statement issued here on Tuesday.
This came a day after the HYC had alleged the KSU members of forcefully entering the house of Pynshngainlang and assaulted him at their office in Mawkyrwat on Monday.
Nongsiej however alleged that Pynshngainlang had assaulted Donald Stone on January 21, this year adding since the matter was compromised, he again assaulted another member Everwell Robin and even threatened to take his life.
He said that the HYC member is a known trouble maker. “He was jealous that the KSU Photja-ud Rangthong unit has been working towards eradicating social evils in the area.”
Nongsiej said the union has demanded the authority concerned to take stern action by immediate arrested the HYC member.
