KSU meets Rijiju over CAU, new NEHU VC issue

A delegation of the Khasi Students Union (KSU) on Thursday sought the intervention of the Union Minister of State for Youth Affairs & Sports Kiren Rijiju for appointment of a new vice chancellor of NEHU and establishment of the Central Agricultural University at Kyrdemkulai in Ri Bhoi district.

A memorandum was also handed over to Rijiju. Also present during the meeting were state agriculture minister Banteidor Lyngdoh and Congress Lok Sabha MP Vincent H Pala.

The KSU has been demanding appointment of Prof SM Sungoh as the new VC of NEHU and to speed up the establishment of the proposed Central Agricultural University in Kyrdemkulai Ri Bhoi.
