KSU seeks action against university for fraudulent conduct
The Khasi Students Union (KSU) on Friday demanded the state government to take action against the Qoumrul Hoque School of Education, University of Science and Technology for its alleged involvement in fraudulent conduct.
According to the KSU, the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) in its order issued on August 5, has withdrawn the recognition for B.Ed in the Qoumrul Hoque School of Education, University of Science and Technology, Ri Bhoi district.
However, the University is continuing to draw and attract advertisements for admission in B.Ed courses for the year 2020, it said.
“…such kinds of fraudulent conduct by the Qoumrul Hoque School of Education, University of Science and Technology should not go unnoticed but necessary course of action as per law must be initiated against the said University for their fraudulent conduct,” KSU-EC chairman Raymond Kharjana said in a letter to the Education Minister, Lahkmen Rymbui.
He said such manners of inviting and enticing the students to take admission in the university for a course which is not recognized by the regulating authority will only ruin and rescind the careers of the students, who are seeking admission for such a course.
