KSU shuts down Ramkrishna Mission for opening on state holiday
The Khasi Students’ Union (KSU) on Monday shut down the Ramkrishna Mission, after it remained open on the occasion of the Seng Kut Snem, a festival of indigenous Khasi faith.
Members from the KSU Mawkhar and Jaiaw Circles went and found that the Ramkrishna Mission at Jail road was functioning despite the state government has already declared the day as a state holiday on the occasion of the Seng Kut Snem.
The management was immediately asked to close down.
Meanwhile, the KSU has warned all offices, educational institutions, banks and companies that failed to respect special occasions and festivals observed by the Indigenous people.

Very sad that a venerable institution like RKM is susceptible to thuggery and the govt remains a silent spectator

If khasi business are forced to close during others festive season how will they react? KSU is one of the most communal groups out there in india. They are known to target non tribals regularly. Many khasis proudly use the slogan “khasi by blood and Indian by mistake”. You can’t expect anything better from such community.

This is not a stray incident. This was coming, for the preparations for such things have been going t for decades. The agenda behind this is clear as is clear as to which group happens to be the mastermind and funds providers.
