KVK Jaintia Hills hosts Kisan Samman Samaroh, highlights PM-KISAN benefits
The Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Jaintia Hills, organized the Kisan Samman Samaroh at its office premises in Wahiajer, West Jaintia Hills, on February 24. The event marked the release of the 19th installment of the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) Yojana by the Prime Minister through hybrid mode.
Progressive farmers who have excelled in the field were felicitated for their contributions. Exhibitions showcased natural and organic farming practices, along with Geographical Indication (GI) tagged products.

Senior Scientist and Head of KVK, Jaintia Hills, L. Challam, welcomed the attendees and highlighted the significance of the PM-KISAN scheme. In a technical session, Dr. C. Challam, Scientist at ICAR, CPRI-RS, Upper Shillong, spoke on potato seed production and post-harvest practices.


R. Lyngdoh, Subject Matter Specialist (Agronomy), conducted training on Integrated Nutrient Management, followed by a session on pest and disease management in potato cultivation by M. Mawlong, Subject Matter Specialist (Plant Protection). Inputs were also distributed to farmers.
