Lad Smit market suspended after COVID patient mingled with shopkeepers, pedestrians
The District Magistrate, East Khasi Hills Matsiewdor War Nongbri has ordered closure of market at Lad Smit, after a COVID-19 patient was reportedly to have mingle with shopkeepers and pedestrians.
Reports have been received that one person who tested positive for COVID-19 on Monday, was found mingling with shopkeepers and pedestrians at Lad Smit Market on July 23, and therefore, the operation of Lad Smit Market is suspended till further orders, Nongbri said in the order.
The district magistrate has also asked all persons at Lad Smit market to go for self quarantine.
“All persons who were at Lad Smit Market on the 23rd July, 2020 are requested to undergo self isolation/quarantine and if any symptoms develop during the course of time, they may report to 108 helpline,” she said.
