Lafarge donates 2 high-flow oxygen equipment for combating COVID-19
Lafarge Umiam Mining Private Limited (LUMPL) has donated two high-flow oxygen equipment to the state government for tackling the ongoing second wave of COVID-19 pandemic in the state.
This was as part of its corporate social responsibility initiative towards promotion of health and safety and as part of its COVID-19 relief aid.
The medical equipment were handed over to the Chief Secretary MS Rao by LUMPL operation director Narayan Sharma.
Sharma reiterated that the company, as a responsible corporate citizen of the state of Meghalaya, continuously works towards the promotion of health and well-being of its communities, employees, stakeholders and to come forward to contribute to strengthen the efforts of the government of Meghalaya in combating this virus.
In terms of its community engagement under its regular CSR initiative for health, LUMPL is working very closely with the Nongtrai village dorbar and the Shella village dorbar to provide support to these two communities to help them prepare and combat the virus by ensuring PPEs, N95 masks, hand sanitizers for the frontline health workers, medicines and vitamins are provided to the two villages.
