Lawlessness should not be there in any part of the state: Mukul

Leader of Opposition Mukul Sangma on Wednesday said that lawlessness should not be there in any part of the state because the overall branding of the state gets somehow tainted.
“Therefore, I would urge everyone not to take law into their own hands,” Sangma told reporters while responding to a question on a government vehicle being torched by miscreants in the Nongmensong area.
Stating that challenges will be there, Sangma however said, “Issues which are not acceptable to the people in as far as our policies are concerned or any proposed legislations are concerned, don’t bulldozed then you will have this kind of rebellious attitude of our youth, frustration, anger, rebellion, you know these are how things unfold and eventually these leads to a situation where you will see all lawlessness and sometimes, you see ugly faces of such lawlessness.”
The former chief minister also asked the government to refrain from treating people, who speak on behalf of the people and flagging the issues and concerns of the people, as criminals.
“They should not be treated as criminals,” he stated.
