Lawyer accused In-Charge of Lad Rymbai Out Post of sexually harassing her

KHLIEHRIAT: A young budding lawyer has accused Sub Inspector Habanjob Khonglah who is the in-charge of Lad Rymbai Police Out Post, East Jaintia Hills District of sexually harassing her and even exhibited his private part to her through social media.

This was stated in a written complaint submitted by the lawyer against Khonglah with the Officer-in-Charge of Khliehriat Women Police Station this afternoon.

According to the complaint, Khonglah had time and again messaged the lawyer through his Whatsapp number with rubbish, stupid and bad words and in two occasions when she happened to visit Ladrymbai Out Post for some legal matter as a newly practicing advocate he even touch her hand and when she reacted he instead apologies for his misdeed.

The lawyer said that Khonglah repeatedly messaged her that he wanted to do video calling with her but she which denied.

“He had even asked for sex through his massages he said that “I am horny. I want sex,” the lawyer said.

The complaint read on 8th November, last at around 05:04 Pm while she was driving he called her through video call and when she happened to receive the call he show her his private part.

The act of the above named culprit has create a great disturbance /danger to her life /modesty as a girl and feared that he may at any time take law in his hand and commit crime towards her as he is a police personal he may even misuse his power and strength, the lawyer said.

She also urged upon the Officer-In-Charge of Women Police Station to kindly arrest Khonglah and to book him under appropriate provision of law and to treat this matter as serious as the act of the culprit posed great threat to her life and modesty as a girl or women and as a newly practicing lawyer.
