Let the court decide on Mawjymbuin cave: BJP

The state BJP on Friday said it would leave it to the wisdom of the court to decide on the issue relating to Mawjymbuin cave issue.

The issue of worship in the Mawsynram cave is sub-judice and no comment should be made until the courts have given their judgement. This is the stated position of BJP Meghalaya on the matter of worship by people of Hindu faith in the caves, the party said.

Arnab Das, Spokesperson BJP Meghalaya said, “People of the Hindu community have been offering prayers inside the cave for years. However, now that the matter has been referred to the courts we must all wait for the verdict of the Honourable court. We have full faith in the wisdom of the courts and the judgement as delivered will be acceptable to us. We pray that an amicable solution be worked out by all concerned in this case.”
