Lockdown in South West Khasi Hills from May 7 to May 10
The District Magistrate, South West Khasi Hills District, Mawkyrwat on Thursday announced Lockdown in the entire district from 10 PM of May 7 till 5 Am of May 10 to fight the surge in coronavirus cases.
During the lockdown period, the District Magistrate prohibited vehicular movement except for essential services including Health Services.
Inter-State movement of person is restricted
MBOSE examination scheduled on 6th & 7th May. 2021 in the State are postponed to 11th & 12 th May 2021. The District School Education Officer, South West Khasi Hills District. Mawkyrwat shall issue the detailed notification.
Inter-district movement shall be restricted.
All Markets including weekly hat /market shall remain closed during the period of lockdown. Only shops selling essential commodities al locality will be allowed to open.
All Offices shall remain closed except banks and Postal services.
Movement of essential goods and farm produce are allowed subject to permission from the Deputy Commissioner.
Weddings already permitted may be held but restricted to family members and not exceeding 20 persons.
Funeral gathering to be restricted to 20 persons with prior permission from the Deputy Commissioner.
EXEMPTIONS:-
Heath services including vaccination.
Essential services viz., Food Cooperation of India, Electricity, Water Supply, Security, Municipal Services, Fire & Emergency Services, National Informatics Centre and Telecommunication Services.
Movement of essential goods.

MGNREGA activities in rural areas.
