Lovely sentenced to 25 years for rape of minor in East Jaintia Hills

The Court of Special Judge (POCSO), East Jaintia Hills District, Khliehriat convicted and sentenced Lovely Chyrmang to twenty five (25) years of rigorous imprisonment and fine of Rs.50000/- for the rape of a minor person in 2017.

Chyrmang was arrested in connection with Khliehriat Police Station C/No.22(01)2017 U/s 5(j)(ii)/6 POCSO Act for the rape of a minor person in one of the villages under Khliehriat Police Station. The case was registered and investigation was entrusted to WPSI. B. Shadap.

The Investigation of the case was done meticulously and Charge sheeted vide CS No. 31/2018 dated 24.04.2018. After completion of trial, the Court of Special Judge (POCSO), East Jaintia Hills District, Khliehriat passed the judgement on 20.09.2024 where Chyrmang was found guilty
