Lucky convicted for molestation of 10 years old girl in West Jaintia Hills District
The Court of Special Judge (POCSO) West Jaintia Hills District has convicted Lucky Dhar for the molestation of a minor girl and convicted him to three years rigorous imprisonment with a fine of Rs. 5000/-.
The judgement was pronounced on September 29.
Police said one FIR was lodged on April, 3, 2019 in Amlarem Police Station where one woman alleged that Lucky Dhar attempted to rape her minor daughter of 10 years old on March 31, 2019 at her residence located in a village under West Jaintia Hills District.
Police said the woman informed that her daughter was sleeping when Lucky Dhar tried to molest her by touching her body and she woke up from her sleep and started crying.
Police said on learning about the incident, the complainant approached the headman and was later advised to forward the matter to the Police.
Police informed Amlarem Police Station Vide Amlarem PS registered a case under Section 7/8/18 of Protection of Children from Sexual Offence Act (POCSO), 2012 against Lucky Dhar.
Police said WPSI. I. Nongrum started the investigation of the case but it was completed by WP Inspector P.E Marwein and the latter filed a chargesheet against Lucky Dhar u/s 7/8/18 of POCSO Act for committing sexual assault on a minor child.
