Makrand Deouskar takes over as UGP, BSF Guwahati Frontier
Senior IPS officer Makrand Deouskar has assumed the charge of Inspector General of BSF Guwahati Frontier.
An IPS officer of the 1997 batch and hailing from Madhya Pradesh cadre, Deouskar possesses vast experience in policing.
Deouskar has served as SP in various districts of Madhya Pradesh, DIG Jabalpur range, DIG intelligence, IG intelligence, IG Hoshangabad zone, IG (CID) and OSD to the Chief Minister Madhya Pradesh.
Deouskar has the distinction of being the first police commissioner of Bhopal after the introduction of the Commissionerate system in Madhya Pradesh.
He was conferred with a police medal for meritorious service in 2013. Deouskar joined BSF on deputation in February 2024 and after commanding Rajasthan Frontier of Border Security Force, he joined BSF Guwahati Frontier.
Makrand Deouskar, after assuming the charge, stressed effective border management to prevent crimes along the Indo-Bangladesh international border and the need to promote a sense of security among the people living in the bordering area.
He also emphasized on maintaining the existing cordial relationship between the Border Guarding Forces of two neighboring countries
