Male body found in East Jaintia Hills

A male body was recovered in a decomposed state at Sohjo, Dongkhliehchnong, Lumshnong, East Jaintia Hills District, approximately 200 meters from NH-06. The body was found on October 28, 2024, at 9:20 AM, and police suspect the deceased may be a non-tribal individual, according to a statement from the Superintendent of Police, East Jaintia Hills District.

The deceased is about 40 years old, approximately 5 feet 8 inches tall, with a fair complexion. He was found lying on a jungle road, wearing light gray tracksuit pants, black half pants, a blue, white, and brown T-shirt, a black and white striped shirt, and black and white Nike slippers.

An inquest could not be conducted due to the condition of the body. After observing all necessary legal formalities, the body was sent to the morgue at Khliehriat Civil Hospital for a post-mortem examination, said the Superintendent of Police in a statement.
