Mamata Banerjee to address TMC rally in Silchar on April 17
West Bengal chief minister and All India Trinamool Congress (AITC) chairperson Mamata Banerjee will arrive in Silchar on Wednesday (April 17) to campaign for the party for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
Banerjee will land at Silchar Airport from where she will proceed to Silchar Town Club Maidam to address an election rally, where more than 20,000 people, mostly women are likely to participate.
Banerjee will be back in Kolkata after the meeting.
Leaders and workers of Assam Trinamool Congress stepped up party activities in view of Banerjee’s visit. On Monday, Assam TMC president Ripun Bora reviewed the preparedness for the election rally.
TMC has fielded four candidates for the Lok Sabha election in Assam. They are: Gauri Shankar Sarania (Kokrajhar), Abdul Kalam Azad from Barpeta, Ghanakanta Chutia from Lakhimpur and Radhamshyam Biswas from Silchar seat.
