Man arrested in West Jaintia Hills murder case

One suspect has been arrested in connection with the murder of a woman from Sahsniang A village in West Jaintia Hills District on Sunday.

The accused has been identified as Wanpyrkhat Lathong (43) of Niawkmai Village.

The tragic incident took place on Sunday at 1 Pm.

According to the police, the attack occurred in the field of Ailem Bamon, who was murdered with her throat slit. Another person, Ki Dkhar, was also assaulted and sustained a grievous neck injury. He is currently undergoing treatment at the civil hospital in Jowai.

Police who take action swiftly, arrested Wanpyrkhat on the same day.
