Man sentenced to 25 years of imprisonment under POCSO Act

One Androsing Mawthoh has been convicted and sentenced to 25 years of rigorous imprisonment under POCSO Act.
The order was passed by the Court of MK Lyngdoh, Special Judge (POCSO), East Khasi Hills, Shillong on April 3.
“…Androdsing Mawthoh, who has been found guilty and sentenced to undergo: 20 years imprisonment with fine of Rupees Thirty Thousand only for an offence punishable under Section 4 of POCSO Act and in default of payment of fine, further imprisonment for 4 (four) months,” district SP Vivek Syiem informed on Friday.
He said the convict is also sentenced to 25 years rigorous imprisonment with fine of Rupees Fifty Thousand only for an offence punishable under Section 6 of POCSO Act and in default of payment of fine, further imprisonment for 6 months.
“The convict is also sentenced to 3 years imprisonment with fine of Rupees Ten Thousand only for an offence punishable under Section 8 of POCSO Act and in default of payment of fine, further imprisonment for 2 months.
The convict is also sentenced to 7 years imprisonment with fine of Rupees Twenty Thousand only for an offence punishable under Section 10 of POCSO Act and in default of payment of fine, further imprisonment for 3 months,” he also said.
The case registered with Madanrting police station was investigated by WP/SI K. Kumari and presently posted at CID Meghalaya, Shillong.
