Manipur Governor visits Senapati district, celebrates Diwali with CRPF jawans
To share Diwali festivities with security personnel posted far from their homes, Assam and Manipur Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya visited the Senapati district headquarters in Manipur on Friday, celebrating Diwali with CRPF jawans.
The Governor extended warm Diwali greetings to the officers and jawans, wishing them happiness and success in their lives. He distributed sweets and joined them for the traditional Barakhana meal, fostering camaraderie on the festive occasion.
Governor Acharya also inaugurated an Exhibition cum Traditional Food Buffet at the Astro Turf Ground, organized by the Manipur North Economic Development Association (MANEDA), with a theme centred on “Peace through Culture and Identity.”
The event included vibrant performances by specially-abled children and women, which the Governor appreciated. He further engaged with representatives of civil society organizations (CSOs) at the Deputy Commissioner’s office in Senapati.
On his arrival, Governor Acharya was warmly welcomed by the Deputy Commissioner, Mamoni Doley, and other officials, adding a festive spirit to the occasion.
